The Contract Maintenance Group (CMG) has a proactive approach towards protecting the environment and has adopted many measures to take us beyond legal compliance with the Environmental Protection Act. Working with our Flooring Manufacturer Service Partners we aim to extend the life of their products way beyond the maximum warranty periods.

By the very nature of our work, we protect the environment by reducing the land-fill of products which are not easily bio-degradable (carpets and resilient flooring containing products such as polypropylene, nylon and PVC) we prolong their useful life through regular cleaning and maintenance.

Many of the products CMG use are from natural sources such as corn husk, citrus oils, calcite salts and silicates.

We re-use product containers and fill from bulk sources.

Our polishes do not contain styrenes and where possible we specify the use of water based products. 

The use of crystal clear products that can withstand in excess of one million impacts applied to existing resilient floors to upgrade their slip resistance prevent their premature replacement due to changing safety regulation.

We are committed to the eradication of products that damage the environment; we have sought to eliminate hazardous chemicals such as CFC's and harmful by-products.

Our services assist in improving indoor air-quality within facilities, by aiding the reduction of gasses caused by volatile organic compounds,  use of triple and quadrouple filtration vacuum extraction machinery to reduce the likelihood of fine dust fallout. The HOST® system removes dirt and reduces allergens. Studies show that Host machines reduce dust mites by 78%.

Water saving technology and recycling systems are employed in a number of our operations. The HOST® system uses 97% less water than typical high-flow water extractors. Cleaning 50,000 square feet of carpet saves over 170,000 gallons of water.
