Because of the every day wear and inappropriate daily cleaning regimes, periodically stone will need to be restored. The older or more neglected the stone is the more care and attention is needed to restore it to it's former beauty CMG can restore the stone back to it's former glory with the correct application of skilled craftsmen and professional care.
Stripping
Removal of existing wax, solvent and acrylic based polishes from stone surfaces, will expose the stone and reveal any damage, deep scratches and discolouration.
Scratch Removal
Using a hand held machine and various graded diamond polishing pads it is possible to remove individual scratch marks from stone surfaces. Removal depends on the depth of the scratch, with very deep scratches, holes or cracks then filling will be required.
Repairs
Using a colour matched epoxy resin to match the stone to as near as possible, cracks, chips, holes and voids can be repaired by our skilled craftsman.
Stain Removal
Deep set staining that cannot be polished out of the face of the stone will require a special poultice application, to draw the staining from the stone
Vitrification
Utilising various grades of diamond polishing discs or abrasive carborundum pads the different grades are worked across the floor surface to remove lippage, deep scratches and levelling the floor surface to produce a deep reflective shine. This process is carried out using water fed machinery so that no dust is created.
Polishing
Using crystallization polishing powder this method will remove light surface staining micro scratches and produce a deep reflective shine, without the need to diamond polish the floor. However this will only be effective on a well maintained floor.
Sealing
Applying a sub-surface impregnator will repel and slow down the absorption of spillages into the stone surface, it will also make the stone easier to clean day to day. If No Skidding Asset Seal/Impregnator is used then the slip resistance of the stone will be enhanced in wet and dry conditions.
Tile & Stone Slab Replacement
When a part of a floor is damaged beyond repair we will attempt to source a matching stone or tile, allowing us to replace the area with a new piece of stone or tile.
Re-grouting
With diamond cutting discs we can fully remove and cut out existing grout joints and replace with new grout, to refresh the look of a floor.
Anti-Slip Solutions for Stone
If you looking for a remedy to a slippery floor to make the surface safer, then look no further than the No Skidding range of slip injury prevention products.
No Skidding offer a wide range of options for increasing the co-efficient of friction for natural or man-made stone floors.
Application of one of the No Skidding Treatments will create a microscopic tread within the stone itself, enhancing the grip of the floor in wet conditions. This system is used by many well known High Street Retailers to ensure the safety of staff and customer. One client had the shallow end in his pool treated as the surface was too slippery to walk across the pool, it will even work under four feet of water.
All stone floors should be sealed to prevent staining and to ease daily cleaning, No Skidding have developed a revolutionary sealer/impregnator that will protect the stone and also dramatically increases the grip of the floor in wet and dry conditions.
