The restoration cleaning of resilient flooring is invariably an investigative exercise requiring some research into why the flooring has ended up in a state requiring a full restoration service.

A poorly looked after resilient floor can conceal damage and discolouration of the floor, especially with Linoleum, which is a very sensitive floor product and needs careful maintenance.  Hidden underneath layer upon layer of old polishes and dirt can hide a good looking floor or an absolute wreck.  One of our roles is to manage the expectation level of how far the floor can be restored cost effectively and how good it can look.

Our main weapon in the restoration of resilient flooring is No Skidding’ Flexstrip product which gently but effectively strips build ups of old seal from the floor surface without causing further damage.  Flexstrip employs ‘Selective Implosion Technology’ which breaks the molecular locks that hold polishes and seals together,  and can literally turn years of polish build up into rubble allowing its removal by wet vacuum whilst still in solution.

Once the floor has had all residues of old seals removed the floor will be rinsed, neutralised and allowed to dry.

Once fully dry the floor will have a Floor Seal applied to provide a base for further coats of whichever polish or coating has been specified.

A fully restored floor can give many further years of good service when subsequently maintained using appropriate products and equipment,  preventing the premature replacement and dumping in landfill with the environmental damage involved.
