HobbyCraft the nationwide chain of retail outlets had tried various cleaning contractors over the first few years of their development. They found that the price they paid for the service had little impact on the quality of the carpet cleaning they received in their stores. Eventually in desperation they contacted Esco (now called Desso) their carpet manufacturer for advice, CMG had recently become the carpet maintenance service partner for Esco and our details were given to HobbyCraft’ Property Manager.
In view of the poor experience they had had with the carpet cleaning industry we offered to carry out a paid trial at the site with the most soiled carpeting. This trial was a huge success, CMG sent a team of five carpet maintenance operatives to the store and cleaned the one thousand square metre site during opening hours. This was achieved by the use of the Host Dry Extraction Carpet Cleaning System which allowed staff and customer to walk over just cleaned carpet, and even carpet that was actually being cleaned. There was no disruption caused to the trading of the store, and the manager was able to see for herself the quality of the work without having to stay behind late into the night as with conventional carpet cleaning.
As a result of the initial trial clean CMG were awarded a three month contract to clean the remainder of the sites in the portfolio across the United Kingdom. This contract brought the carpets back up to a very good standard, not withstanding the damage caused by previous contractors. Once the carpet restoration clean schedule was complete we were awarded a years carpet maintenance contract, over ten years later we are still working with HobbyCraft nationwide.
The Contract Maintenance Group maintains well over 100,000 square metres of retail floor space per annum on behalf of HobbyCraft Ltd.
